I am planning a corporate family fun day for 1,000 guests; can Alton Towers Resort accommodate this?
Our Corporate Hospitality Suite can hold up to 900 guests on a rolling basis and our Towers Suite can hold up to 384 guests on a rolling basis. These two venues are based in the Theme Park and can be used together offering a combined capacity of 1,284. If you would like all your guests in one venue we can offer you a marquee on the front lawns of Alton Towers. I am planning a corporate family fun day for 40 guests which is below your minimum number of 50; can you help?
Although our minimum numbers for an event in the Theme Park is 50, we can offer you Theme Park tickets and Magic Money (gift vouchers) which can been redeemed at Alton Towers Theme Park restaurants, bars and shops which provides a convenient way to buy your guests lunch.
I am planning a corporate family fun day but the numbers of guests is over 3,000 so we will not be able to use a marquee. Can you help?
For events with over 3,000 guests we can offer you theme park tickets and Magic Money (gift vouchers) which can be redeemed at Alton Towers Theme Park restaurants, bars and shops which provides a convenient way to buy your guests lunch. This has been a popular choice for a number of companies hosting very large events at Alton Towers Resort. Please contact the events team for more details.
What additional entertainment can I offer my guests to enhance our corporate family fun day?
For companies using one of our venues for a corporate family fun day, our most popular entertainment options include magicians, face painters and storytellers as well as organised craft activities and fun workshops. We can also provide you with roaming photographers who will either print your pictures within an hour or can be posted to you on a CD to your office after an event. Company away days frequently asked questions:
I am planning a company away day for 200 delegates and will need space for an informal meeting in the morning followed by lunch and then free time in the theme park and possibly something in the evening too. What do you suggest?
Alton Towers Resort is perfect for company away days. You can use the Towers Suite in the Theme Park for your informal meeting and lunch and then use the venue as a base while you explore the Theme Park. In the evening you could enjoy one of our ghost tours followed by dinner in either the Alton Towers Conference Centre or in the Corporate Hospitality Suite. Alternatively you could hire Rita - Queen of Speed for an hour of exclusive fun followed by a barbecue in the Corporate Hospitality Suite. Click here for more information.
I am planning a company away day for 30 guests which is below your minimum number of 50 in the Theme Park can you help?
Although our minimum number for an event in the Theme Park is 50 delegates, we can offer you one of our syndicate rooms within the Alton Towers Conference Centre for an informal meeting for as few as 16 delegates. Hire of a meeting room is included in our premium day delegate package together with parking at the Hotel, 3 servings of refreshments, lunch in the Secret Garden Restaurant within the Alton Towers Hotel and entrance to the Theme Park. Can we use our own caterers?
We do not allow caterers at Alton Towers. However, our own in-house chefs have an excellent track record in delivering excellent food and service for as many as 3,000 guests and our menus offer a huge choice of delicious dishes at highly competitive prices.
Most venues we use for our events are non smoking. Do you allow smoking at your venues?
Due to new legislation smoking is not allowed in any of our venues. Guests wishing to smoke must use dedicated smoking areas in the Theme Park. If you are using the Corporate Hospitality Suite guests can use the private patio area.
How early can we access the venue and what time do we need to finish?
We have an entertainment and liquor licence until midnight for evening events in our Theme Park venues. However, corporate family fun days, company away days and team build days within the Theme Park generally commence at 9.30am and end at 5.00pm.
I want to book a DJ for my event and a tribute band for dancing after dinner, do you have any restrictions with regards to entertainment?
We would ask that all entertainment is booked through our events team using our list of nominated suppliers. In some circumstances we do allow companies to bring their own entertainment. In this instance we would require suppliers to complete all necessary health and safety paperwork before being allowed on site.
Once we have booked our event when do we receive our tickets?
Once your deposit has been received your event manager will send your tickets to you direct via Royal Mail Special Delivery approximately 7 working days prior to your event.
Are there any hidden extras I need to know about?
An event manager, waiting staff and all furniture requirements for seated events up to 300 guests are included within the hire of our Theme Park venues. Background music, lighting and our PA system are also provided free of charge. For any additional A/V equipment we charge below industry rates.
Can we supply our own drink?
We have a number of different drinks packages available and feel sure we have one that fits your budget. Please ask the events team for more information.
Can I hire any of the theme park rides exclusively?
Rides (subject to availability) can be hired for the exclusive use of clients during the evening after the park is closed to the public for 1 or more hours. Please contact the events team for more infomation.
I'm looking for an unusual team building activity, can you suggest something?
The Alton Towers Challenge is a unique team building activity which incorporates physical and mental challenges and involves delegates enjoying the rides and attractions throughout the Theme Park. It is the perfect team building activity for large and small numbers and can be tailor made to your exact requirements. Click here for more details. All other team building takes place our green field site adjacent to the Alton Towers Hotel and is organised by one of our nominated team building suppliers who can host activities from a light-hearted treasure hunt, to a carefully monitored and debriefed training game.
I am organising an outing for my colleagues and want to offer something special but I don't need a venue or caterer, can you help?
We can offer you Theme Park tickets and Magic Money (gift vouchers) which can been redeemed at Alton Towers Theme Park restaurants, bars and shops. This provides the most convenient way to buy your guests lunch and offers the perfect alternative to hiring a venue.
Can you arrange for internet connection to be available for my meeting in the theme park?
The Towers room within the Towers Suite is fitted with wireless connection allowing high speed internet access for any number of users subject to avaliability. Please ask the event team for more information.
I don't want my guests to have to queue for rides
Even on peak days the queues aren't too long. The Alton Towers Resort is committed to reducing queue times and have invested in initiatives such as increasing rider capacity and introducing new rides and attractions. What time does the park open / close?
The Park opens at 9.30am and the rides start from 10.00am, the Park closes from 5pm depending on the time of the year. Please click here for full details.
Can I hire pushchairs?
Yes, strollers can be hired from Guest Services, located at the top of Towers Street. A £20 refundable deposit is required per stroller and a daily charge of £5.00 / £8.50 per single / double stroller. All prices are subject to change.
Is there a baby care centre on-site?
There are six award winning baby-care areas located within the toilets around the Park, please refer to our park map.
Are there ATM machines on the Theme Park?
Yes we have 3 ATM's situated at the top of Towers Street just on the left as you enter the Park.
What First Aid facilities are available at the Alton Towers Resort?
Our well equipped First Aid Centre is run by qualified staff and is located at the bottom of Towers Street between Towers Family Restaurant and the Skyride station. Many of our team members across the Park are also first aid trained and all restaurants and rides carry a first aid kit.
What facilities are there for guests with disabilities?

What happens if I lose and item of property at the Park?
Alton Towers go to great lengths to reunite items of lost property with their rightful owners. Found items are taken to Guest services. If you think you might have lost an item on-site please contact your event manager.
